FAQs

What class should I start with?

If you have any injuries/restrictions- we suggest starting with a private/1:1 class. If you have recently given birth we also suggest a 1:1 postnatal screen before returning to classes.

If this isn’t you, you could consider starting in our beginner classes. It doesn’t matter if you haven’t done Pilates before, our expert instructors will talk you through it!

Do I need to bring anything?

We encourage you to bring your own water. Currently due to COVID-19 we ask you bring your own towel and a pair of socks also. All equipment is provided.

What if I am running late for class?

Our classes involve a 5-10 minute warm up at the start, if you are able to join in before the end of the warm up then we will happily let you in. However, if you are more than 10 minutes late to a class, we may have to turn you away.

I am pregnant- now what?

We suggest you make a time (outside of a class) to have a chat to one of our instructors regarding your pregnancy.

As a general rule: We allow you to participate in the class of your choice during your first trimester, however we may suggest you participate in a lower intensity class if we feel it is unsafe. During your first trimester, you must inform our instructors what week of your pregnancy you are up to at the beginning of each class, as modifications may be required.    Thereafter from approx 13-16 weeks pregnancy we strongly require you to attend our Pre & Post Natal Classes.

Do you have a minimum booking for a class to go ahead?

Classes need a minimum 2 participants to continue, otherwise the class will be cancelled. You will receive notification with plenty of notice if this occurs. Please note we often have 2 classes running at the same time so its always likely you will fit into another class as a substitute.

What do I need to know about my first class?

Please arrive 10 minutes early to your first class. This is for you to familiarise yourself with the studio, fill out our new client form and be introduced to the instructor & the reformer bed.

How often should I attend?

This is completely individualised. We understand you may be participating in other exercise activities. How your body adapts to Pilates will be completely dependent on how many classes you’re attending per week. Our recommendation is 2 minimum to see the benefits of pilates. If you aren’t doing any other physical activity, consider 3-4 times a week.

How do your waitlists work?

Our waitlists are available to use via our app or website. When you see a class is full it will ask if you want to add yourself to a waitlist, if so, you will be able to watch your spot in the line & you will receive a notification if you have been accepted into the class via text.

I am 6 weeks postnatal - now what?

from 0-6 weeks PP we offer tailored Physiotherapy consults for anyone looking for a “postnatal screen”, particularly if are looking to start tailored strength training to your PP body.

From 6 weeks PP you are welcome to return to our Pre & Post Natal classes with the go ahead from our in-house Physiotherapist or your GP. After approx 3 weeks of Post Natal classes and another chat to our instructors you can start to move along into other classes as you feel confident.

Is there an age limit?

We highly recommend you are over the age of 16 to attend our classes. Our beginner and amt pilates classes are suited to anyone under the age of 16, however you must have parent permission and speak to one of our trainers.

Can i attend both studios with my pass?

All introductory offers, memberships and packages can be used across both studios. Simply log out of your app and log back in to view and book both schedules.

What do I wear?

The most common attire is workout gear. We suggest wearing a t-shirt or singlet underneath because we like to work up a sweat! Some clients enjoy wearing Pilates grip socks, whilst others enjoy working out bare feet. The choice is yours!

Whats your cancellation period?

We have a strict 5 hour cancellation window. If you have booked into a class and you want to cancel outside the 5 hour window, you can do so via our booking app/ website with no late fee. However if you are within the 5 hour cancellation window you will have a pass deducted. For special circumstances please call and we can reverse the fee. If you simply want to swap your class for a different timeslot that day, just give us a call and we will happily help.

Can I transfer or share my pass?

Class packages and memberships are not to be shared between clients, however if for unfortunate circumstances you can no longer attend our studio, we will consider transferring your remaining passes to a nominee.

Can I have a 1:1?

We offer 1:1 & 2:1 private sessions which can be booked as an appointment via our Physiotherapy tab. You will receive undivided attention from our Physiotherapist and the class will be completely modified to suit your needs. You may be comfortable to progress into a group class following these private sessions.

I am already fit! what can pilates do for me?

You will be surprised as to how different pilates can be from regular strength training. Our classes specifically focus on breaking down movements to create correct muscle firing patterns, cue your alignment from tip to toe and encourage you to use muscles you may have never even heard of!!
